OUR VISION

To catalyse and support local churches helping them to create a culture that values marriage and builds fruitful, healthy, fulfilling, God-centred marriages that are passed on to future generations.

HOW DOES GEN 2.24 SUPPORT CHURCHES?

We support local Welsh churches and their couples in the following ways:
Premarital Support - For couples, if the local churches don’t offer any
Newlyweds - Offer support and coaching to couples starting out (years 1-5)
Communication - Coaching couples to develop skills to improve their communication
Breaking the ‘crazy cycle’ - Coaching support to those facing issues they feel ‘stuck in’
Confidential support to church pastors and leaders
Marriage Enrichment Events – Delivered at the local church

WHY GEN 2.24?

THE NEED

Often issues only come out in marriage past the point of repair/help, sadly leading to the relationship completely breaking down
There is a huge gap and need across churches in supporting marriages where churches are only able to give very little (if any) training or teaching to equip couples to flourish due to bandwidth and workload of the already hard-working church leaders
Christian husbands and wives struggle all over Wales for a lack of knowledge and practical tools in their marriages.
Care for the Family is one of the organisations that helps marriages across Wales, providing excellent resources and events to attend. Outside of them there is nothing at a local church level, unless the church runs its own course / enrichment day.
Every church has multiple stories of marriages breaking down, causing a lifetime of damage to husbands and wives, their children, the church and society
Many church leaders and pastors are isolated and struggling but unable to get help and support due to a lack of people they can talk to about their own issues while leading the church.

WHAT VALUE DOES ‘GEN2.24 | Marriage Matters’ GIVE?

We help couples to intentionally focus on marriage rather than drift through life with no investment or focus on their relationship.
By building healthy marriages, we create healthy families, healthy churches, healthy communities, healthy society.
We will create an opportunity for couples to talk and receive help before the point of it being too late, which sadly is the high percentage for most marriage breakdowns.
The practical sessions will help strong marriages become even stronger.
We will bring sessions to local churches, so couples feel comfortable in their own environment for the Marriage Enrichment mornings / nights.
We support church leaders by partnering and coming alongside the local church.
We come alongside church leaders and pastors offering confidential support for them and their marriage.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE IN...

1. The one true God who lives eternally in three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

2. The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.

3. The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God-fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.

4. The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.

5. The incarnation of God's eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ - born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.

6. The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.

7. The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.

8. The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.

9. The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.

10. The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers - given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.

11. The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
